On the Tip of My Tongue ©

Formerly: From Ears and Mouth Presents

Gigs! Record Releases! Photos!

Yes! It's my video show!
Here is the schedule for On the Tip of My Tongue
Excellent local musicians on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of each month
San Fancisco Channel 29, 6:00PM!

Summer, Summer, Summer! It's freezing out here in San Franciscolandia but that's the way it goes, ni modo.
The show continues with the best of this year, last year, the one before that, and the ones before that! Estupendo, I know.
My friend Robbert told me about these fabulosas chicas that you need to go check out, do it holmes! Taco Chick and Salsa Girl Te lo julio, my people are too funnny!
I still want to get a t-shirt or baseball cap that says either "mexican cracker" or "ghetto mexican". I think I'll get into less trouble if I get the "mexican cracker" dicho, no crees? Of course, someone is going to steal that idea from me, carajo. Just for el record, it's Thursday August, 2 del 2007. No me jodan, mamones!
Oh, and this is my favorite soccer player Kikin Fonseca. What really me hace mad is that I can't get all the games he plays on la tele. He plays for Los Tigres de Monterey and all we seem to be concentrating here are the pinche L.A. Galaxy games (or L.A. Fallacy as Paola likes to call them)! Mira que chistosa!
Ok I need to irme a la casa now, bueno, first I have to go to Walgreens and buys some Claritin for my marido and some cotton balls for me; it's part of the belleza thing.
Cuidense, mis pollitos

We're very excited because on Saturday June 17, we are taping a lovely musical piece with artist Derek Lassiter, he will be showcasing some songs for On the Tip of My Tongue and hopefully we'll have time to sit and chat with Derek for a few minutes.

This picture was taking at the studio, from L to R we have Steve, Me, Rod and Scott. Steve passed away on Saturday. His smile could light up an entire room; he was generous, wickedly funny, kind and a great hugger. Steve is going to be terribly missed and never forgotten. xox

Saw the Stereophonics last night. They played their set like they had to get to another gig or go put out a fire. They delivered their songs at a break neck speed and for a second there I thought they were just going to go down the track list of their new record, turned out they played 8 out of the 11 new songs. It must be quite a task to select what songs to play and what not to touch, don't get me wrong it was a good hour and a half of a rock solid performance, but no 'Have a Nice Day' in San Francisco? Was it too cliche to be considered? Highlight was Kelly's solo performance of 'Maybe' and the rockin' 'Madam Helga'.
Tonight head out over to the Cafe Du Nord for the Owl Mag showcase for Austin Willacy and friends.

Wednesday, April 20

First of all Happy Summer Solstice! Second, we missed the The Sort Outs at the Hotel Utah but we did catch them at the Hemlock Tavern and we had a blast. The limericks were on fire so were the free cd's. Thanks guys! Marty Willson-Piper graced us with three hours of songs, poetry, humor and general observations, a night to remember to be sure. PC Muñoz and the Amen Corner's record release party was amazing. Good music, good "preaching" from PC and joining in on some keyboard action the one and only Dr. Fink!
Keep checking your listings and support local music!

Wednesday May 19, 2004

Been going nuts with a picture I posted here and my computer crashing, so to resolve the crashes I've taken the picture down. Will try something different later.
This weekend was that taping of On The Tip of My Tongue with singer/sonwriter Kyra Brown. Not only does Kyra do music but she's an artist as well, check out her work at Booty Boutique.

January 13th, 2004
Places to visit on rainy days and otherwise:
Work Space, The Suns, Bazaar Cafe, NEWSPAPERTAXI.NET where my review of Wire Graffiti's Peculiar Love is featured. Thanks Matt Denyer, you rock!

January 9th, 2004
Many a celebration took place the first week of January what with my birthday on the 3rd and Shonna's on the 7th. Shonna is my music twin and guru. She's balancing the universe from her end out in Vegas.
Thanks to Rafael, Mom and Dad, Planet Clare, Lady Triysha, Kay, Marty Willson-Piper, Shonna, Maggie, Beth, Jo, Sherece, Karen, Ricky, Jaida, Serene, Louis and Lady Lyssa for the well wishes! It was the best birthday to date! I look good for 30! …giggle!
The picture below is of some of the LotR cast. It was especially uploaded here because dearest Clare couldn't view it otherwise. It's a good shot, 'nuff said.
I've been lacking in live music performances, attending them that is, I shudder to think what me performing one would look like…utter terror no doubt! The only promising show on the horizon is The Church in March. Could the drought last that long?
Movie-wise it's been all LotR though tomorrow Big Fish may reel us in…OH THAT WAS BAD!

December 8th, 2003
Some fabulous words (reviews) on 2 fabulous bands: Wire Graffiti and pc muñoz.

December 1st, 2003
World AIDS day, for more information go here: UNAIDS.
PC Muñoz and the Amen Corner. I've written a great review on them but the site I'm writing for: grapevineculture.com hasn't uploaded it and it's really frustrating because as you all know I'm not one with unlimited amounts of patience.
Oh, and right now? I hate COMCAST.

November 10th, 2003
Venting: This has nothing to do with music, just a "heads up". DON'T ORDER ANYTHING FROM THE SIERRA CLUB! Berkeley branch. They practice lousy customer service, zero follow-up and offer up blatent lies in lieu of admitting any error. Excuses, excuses, excuses! Email me if you want the details of what took place. In the meantime, avoid them, avoid frustration!
Studio stuff:
A few thousand thank yous to: Alice, Barbara, Bobby, Dena, Dia, Len, Rod, Steve and Tina for being so right on and coming out on Saturday the 8th for the non-taping, taping. The intros look grand and it'll be loads of fun airing these on several shows. You are the best crew ever, ever, ever!
Gift giving:
Order Warmth from The Suns, fantastic CD, fantastic band. Who knows you may become email buddies with David Lloyd and Markus Mullholand.
Also, the new records from PC Muñoz and the Amen Corner , Wire Graffiti, Lane and The Badass Chicken Bones are available now.
